Do you know a great book for a new book club I'm starting?

I am starting a very small book club and would like a good book to read for our first book. A book that will have lots to talk about. Demographics of the club: Females, age 26-29. Thanks for your ideas!Do you know a great book for a new book club I'm starting?

this is a great book i think it was called the kite runnerDo you know a great book for a new book club I'm starting?
I recently started a small book club with similar ages (23-30) and we have had so much to discuss on the following books:

-Fall on Your Knees by Ann-Marie MacDonald

-Wicked by Gregory Maguire

-The Beauty Myth by Naomi Wolf

Good luck!
The women's murder club novels by James Patterson (1st to Die, 2nd Chance, 3rd Degree, etc.) would be fun to read with a group of women, you could try to solve the crimes along with the characters. I just read 4th of July and I have been dying to talk to someone about it!Do you know a great book for a new book club I'm starting?
the kite runner
Well the book I just finished is called I was a non-Blonde Cheerleader and it was a really good book. It kinda all depends on what types of books everyone is in to.
the da vinci code, the poisonwood bible, a million little pieces, house of leaves, the joy luck club, lovely bones, the southern girl's guide to living, water for elephants, the kite runner, the memory keeper's daughter, and the nanny diaries are all great reads.
It depends on what your readers are into but I was really caught up in the unique perspective of The Lovely Bones and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. That second one is a tough read if you have no patience but fascinating if you have even the slightest curiosity about autism.
i do!i do! it's 2 books 1 is called 'socks'by beverly cleary and another one called 'evidence of mercy' by Terri blackstock
pretty little liars

its a rocky start but pulls you in
Janet Evanovich has written books about a Bounty Hunter Named Stephanie Plum. Those are funny! Also, any of the books on Oprah's Book List are usually prettty interesting.

Good Luck on your Book Club~!
There are many, MANY good books out there.

The single BEST book I have ever read is Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. Trust me, and don't judge a book by it's cover.
It would depend on what genre your group is interested in. Lisa Scottolina has a good series (each book is stand alone) that centers on a group of female lawyers and their clients. (mystery) I understand the newest has some erotic in it. but I've read others and none are erotic.

http://scottoline.com/Site/ one of my favorite's is Killer Smile.
Well ummmm... Hmmmm..... tough one well if you are kinda uptight id go with Suite Fran莽aise:climate change, and the way we eat, the top choice on our list of the 50 best books of 2006 was written decades before, in 1942. The story of the writing and the rediscovery of Ir猫ne N茅mirovsky's novel Suite Fran莽aise is incredible, but no more so than the novel itself, a clear-eyed and stunningly compassionate account of the Nazi occupation of France (an occupation that would soon take its author's life).
