If I start a local book club, astronomy club, or art club, would I need to register with the state?

If I start a local book club, astronomy club, or art club, would I need to register with the state? Would a need to file taxes, would I need to to get a license? It would be open to the public and not collect money or anything.. I went to the Secretary of State of Georgia, however I couldn't find laws about it.If I start a local book club, astronomy club, or art club, would I need to register with the state?
You have constitutional right of association and can form voluntary clubs if you wish. If you wanted to start a business you need to file for a tax number and decide the kind of business you want. If you want to be a corporation or an S Corporation, you need to file papers with Secretary of state to incorporate. If you are sole proprietorship, you might want to file your name of the club with the state and file tax number if you have any employees. Otherwise your social security number is your number for tax purposes. You have to keep track of expenditures and income and file your appropriate taxes. Some states may require more than others. Some places require a license and that may also depend on whether or not you serve food. If ou serve food, it will most likely require a license.
