Can you recommend a book for a second grade girls' book club?

My daughter and I have joined a mother-daughter book club for second graders. We are rotating meetings at each others' homes and it will be our turn to host and pick the book soon. Can you recommend a good book for us? I should note that the eight girls in the club are advanced readers (more like on the 4th grade level), but we'd still like appropriate subject matter for a 2nd grader. Thanks for any suggestions you can provide. Can you recommend a book for a second grade girls' book club?

King Fortis the Brave!
I dont know if its on a 2nd grade level, but Charlottes Web is good and would be nice since the movie is coming out. I personally always like to read the books before I see the movies, maybe the girls would like that too.

I also agree with the baby sitters club books, but I would recommend reading one first yourself because I am pretty sure they deal with boys and kissing and that may not be what you want a 2nd grader reading just yet. But I am not entirely sure about this, that why I recommnded reading first yourself.

Oh I just remembered "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" awesome book for 2nd graders and good with the holidays coming up.
