Where/how does one go about finding a decent book club?

I was at my local Borders a couple weeks back and I remember seeing a book club, or a sort of writer's club meeting there. I always thought it would be interesting to join one, not many of my friends are as avid readers as I am and there are even less there are literary minded enough to hold a conversation about a book for more than a few minutes.

Where do I look to find one? I live in Tempe, Arizona.

You might try your local library also. Does your local library have a readers advisory desk or librarian?

Good luck on your search and hope that if you find one you like it.

It might be something that you have to do without your friends.

You may even try your local YMCA.Where/how does one go about finding a decent book club?

I bet Tempe has allot of cool reading groups, I know around where i live, they are usually listed in the 'Local' or 'Living' section of the newspaper, public libraries usually have a bulletins for reading groups. Common areas of Community Colleges or Universities. Always check your local independent bookstores for groups, I avoid Borders/Barnes and Noble groups for the most part. Great way to meet some like minded people.
