What can I do to make my book club more fun and exciting?

I recently started a book club with a couple friends. We're all between the ages of 27-34. The book selections are excellent, but the meetings tend to lean towards BORING. What can we do to make our meetings more fun and exciting? I would like for this to be more social and not ONLY about the book. What can I do to make my book club more fun and exciting?
More people, different kinds of thinkers, more intellectual arguments.

Also booze doesn't hurt.
Alcohol. What can I do to make my book club more fun and exciting?
stop reading books and start watching movies
Bet them to read some Henry Miller, then put cannabis in the cookies. What can I do to make my book club more fun and exciting?
switch to movies
Look into hyperinflation.

Peter Schiff just made a new call that's sure to chill everyone to the bone.
Strip, wear only peanut butter, and invite a full grown Kodiak bear.
try having your meetings somewhere fun. fun always gets girls chatty.
We've been running into the same issue at my book club, so we added cooking! Every week, a different member of the club prepares a Dinner and Dessert for the rest of us, and this works in a rotating pattern. The fun part too is that the person who's turn it is to cook the following week brings a finger snack for the club to eat while discussing.

Did this make sense?
