What are some club activities can be executed in Book Club?

Book club a club where people who loves reading gather to deepen their love for books....but somehow... thinking of activities for it is somehow hard...any suggestions? don't worry the credit is for the ones who answered not me... oh yeah, an activity besides, book discussion and book drive? answers are appreciated...What are some club activities can be executed in Book Club?
Forming a club is exciting! It depends on what kind of atmosphere you want for the club. When a club is in its beginning stages, you should have lots of options for potential members as far as participation.



Some ideas:

-book review newsletter: participants can write reviews of books, ratings, etc.... it allows readers to write about books that excite them individually, so, if you do group reading it leaves room for individuality and also exposes group members to lots of different books that they might not have sought out on their own



-fundraiser: fundraise for your club? or fundraise for a charitable organization, such as a bake sale! Or you can even bring previously-loved books out to a table and allow people to make donations to the cause and take an interesting book while they're there! Schools often don't let you sell things, but will support you if you merely suggest donations



-goodie mixers: discuss books and enjoy tea and goodies with your group. It doesn't have to be tea. And the goodies can be pastries or other good snack-ables



-creative writing: for the adventurous in your group, or for those who would rather extend a discussion of characters through application, creating their own story... this works well with a book-review newsletter, so you can flesh out the newsletter with other kinds of articles...

in the newsletter you can also gather related events in your local area, the library, the campus if you're a university student.



as for printing, you can keep costs low by making a pdf (this is easy if you have word processing application, microsoft word is the best for your buck, or try open office which is completely fre)



each member could contribute a small amount per issue, depends on how much you want to distribute or if you want to distribute them, otherwise, members can print or save their own copy to their computer.
