How do you find a book club in your community?

I love to read and would like to find a book club and meet with other people who read mysteries or something enjoyable. I don't want to study Civil War History or attend a church Bible study. Can someone suggest where to start looking? The local library doesn't offer anything for adults.How do you find a book club in your community?
As others have said, check out a local book store. You can also call your local Senior Center. Many retired teachers attend and participate in our local Senior Center. We also have a lifelong learning not for profit called Community Education Coalition. They have a book club. I belonged for quite a while and read some amazing books.

You can also start one Miz D if your local Senior Center doesn't have one. They may even write a grant for you to help out with getting the monthly books. One never knows until they try and I'd venture to guess there are a lot of seniors out there wishing there was book club in your community.

There is a section of my local newspaper that has a whole page devoted to various clubs and meeting times, including book clubs. Maybe you could start such a club in your town, there are a lot of mystery/true crime readers who may enjoy trading books and discussing them too.How do you find a book club in your community?

When I did this, I found several book groups in my city. Good luck to you. I actually belong to one of these Meetup groups for beagles an their owners. We meet twice a month with our dogs and do lots of fun things together.

Check your neighborhood newsletters.Our neighborhood has a book club that meets ten months out of the year.
Call any new or used book store. We have Borders here, an excellent place that has got a fair amount of my money...

You can send me to study the C W history...I'd love it. I can probably teach it.
Go to the library and offer to start one for adults. If your library has a website they could post a notice on there. You could also post flyers in the library.
