I just joined a book club. I'm going next month for the very first time for their meeting. I'm usually a pretty friendly person, but I get nervous speaking and expressing my feelings around new people. I don't know anyone at the Book Club yet, but I'm hoping to make some new friends and be able to engage in enlightening conversation about our book.
How can I express my feelings about the book and not be nervous about what I'm saying? How do I express my feelings openly at book club?
1. First you need to relax. You'll feel better.
2. Then, if you are worried that you will insult someone by disagreeing with them, you can say something like "no offense but..."
3. You can compromise what someone is saying by saying something like "I agree with that, but..."
4. Try to be yourself. I always struggle with this one, because I love being shy around new people, but when it comes to my friends, I'm a complete goofball.
5. If you disagree, or didn't like the book, say it. People might feel the same way.
6. If you are really hyper all the time, but can't be hyper with new people, try sugar.
7. If you are still feeling akward, try making or buying cookies to bring. It always works!!!
Hope this helped!!!How do I express my feelings openly at book club?

Book lovers tend to be shy, reserved types. I'm sure you'll make lots of friends. Be confident.
