What books would you recommend for a book club for year 10?

For my duke of Edinburgh award me and a couple of friends are doing a book club with our school librarian and we have to each have some books that we can all read and discuss. We all like different styles. Can anyone recommend some books that we might like to read? What books would you recommend for a book club for year 10?

This is just a few books to choose from. I hope it helps.
Read the book Defiance- by Valerie Hobbs

Here's a brief summary of the book-

Eleven-year-old Toby Steiner wants to do normal things on his vacation: he wants to hike and race his bike down the hill and learn to fish out on the lake. The last thing he wants is to return to the children's hospital where his painful cancer treatment finally ended. When Toby starts spending time with Pearl, a spunky old woman who lives on a nearby farm, and Blossom, her broken-down cow, he sees all the more reason to keep the new lump on his side a secret from his parents. From Pearl he discovers the beauty of poetry, and from Blossom he just might uncover the meaning of life.

In this honest and life-affirming novel for young readers, which Suzanne Fisher Staples, author of the Newbery Honor Book Shabanu, calls “beautiful and gripping,” an unforgettable boy learns about the importance of letting things happen on their own and listening to his heart.

^ It's a great book! ^

What books would you recommend for a book club for year 10?
Fablehaven by Brandon Mull. It's a fantasy novel, about a brother and sister who are sent to their grandparents house for a couple weeks in the summer. They have never been to their house before and they've never seen their grandparents at family events together, it was always one or the other. It's one of my favorite series- I like it better than Harry Potter (that in itself is amazing.)

The Leven Thumps Series by Obert Skye- another good one

Farworld by Jeff Savage is due to come out soon in Sept.

Pillage also by Obert Skye

The 13th Reality by James Dashner

-I work in a bookstore and these are some of the most popular ones- and I like them all I just highly recommend Fablehaven!

Happy Reading!
