What do you do at book clubs?

I want to do a gathering-book club. What exactly do you do though? Im doing it as a way, for all my friends to get together and at the same time actually use our brain's once in a while.What do you do at book clubs?
Normally the group picks a book that sounds interesting and fun. They either read it independently or at club meetings. Regular club meetings are held where the group discusses what they have read and any feelings they may have.
