We belonged for many years to the Children's Book of the Month Club.
Unlike the more commercial clubs, (which offer ONLY Dr. Seuss, or ONLY muppets, or whatever) it offers books from all publishers, and is set up like a typical adult book club -- you get to opt out of purchasing books, rather than having them routinely send them each month.
And it grows with your child. There are books for every age from toddlers through adolescent.

Or, don't forget your public library! What are good book clubs for children?
The best book club is the library. New titles all the time that aren't limited by one publishing house or one theme. Also the material automatically ages with your child. The prime benefit is there are no shipping fees or payments of any sort and they don't store your credit card info. And if you don't like the book you have 6 weeks to return it, not 5 days.
