I enjoyed reading The road, Satanic verses and games people play. I don't mind any genre as long as it is a page turner.I am grad student on a summer break. Any good book clubs in San Diego? Can anyone suggest good books?
'Mona Lisa Overdrive' by William Gibson
--And I'll bet you won't stop there at reading books by this author, who really does keep the pages turning, the action up, and the stories laid down fine. Gibson is a word-manufacturer as well as a world-manufacturer, fantastic at both. A great writer.
'The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao' by Junot Diaz
--The Pulitzer winner for fiction for 2008, and I have never read a book before in which the footnotes play such a large and engaging role in the storytelling; it's very good.
'The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian' by Sherman Alexie
--Been recommending this book for a while now, and I hope someone picks it up. It's straight-up great reading.
Regarding a book club in San Diego: Suggest you call a local public library and ask the reference librarian there. He or she will know several, and if he/she doesn't know them right away, he/she has been trained to research questions like that for at least a year before getting his/her job.
You can also check your local paper; often book clubs will put an ad in now and then.I am grad student on a summer break. Any good book clubs in San Diego? Can anyone suggest good books?

I am a soon to be Grad student. I know how your feeling. lol It's nice to not have anything to do for a change.
I love Meg Cabot (Heather Wells %26amp; Queen of Babble) and Sophie Kinsella's (Shopaholic [soon to be movie] %26amp; Remember Me) books. I am in the process of reading Emily Giffin's (Something Borrowed %26amp; Something Blue) books. They are all great authors!
If you want more info or meg cabot's website email me.
