This is our third book club meeting at my high school and I'm in charge of one of the discussions again. Last time, my group played "Bingo" where the answers were on the cards and I would ask various questions. They would then mark the answer off on the card and try to get 5 in a row. I'm trying to think of something creative like that to play, but I need ideas. Does anyone here have any? What games can you play at Book Clubs to discuss the book and have fun?
An author game:
Start with the first and last name of any author. The next person names an author whose first name begins with the last letter in the last name of the previous author. Example: Nora Roberts----Robin Carr. You can do the same thing with book titles.
A book cover game:
Write book cover pictures on pieces of paper, and place in a bag. Pull one out, and name a book title that has that picture on the cover. Example: birds-------The Windup Bird Chronicle, Freedom: A Novel, The Thorn Birds, Mockingjay. What games can you play at Book Clubs to discuss the book and have fun?
You could do a mock-Jeopardy game, where their answers must be in the form of a question and each answer is worth a prize (when I did it for a Halloween game, I used varying types of candy to stand in for the monetary values, ie lvl 1 was a mini snickers, all the way up to the most valuable, a mini Hundred Grand bar).
And there's always Pictionary, with the suggested images based on things from the book. To really throw them for a loop, include some abstract concepts in the prompts. What games can you play at Book Clubs to discuss the book and have fun?
why not do little plays about the book, and split them into teams and whoever wins can win A prize.

little acting games get a few people to act out a scene of the book

hope i've helped :)
